La sfarsitul acestei saptamani, sambata, 9 octombrie, in orasul francez Schiltigheim, aflat în departamentul Bas-Rhin, in regiunea Alsacia, nu departe de cunoscutul Strasbourg, se va desfasura, de la ora 16.00, la Gymnase des Malteries, un turneu international de gimnastica artistica, la care si-au anuntat participarea gimnaste din 6 tari in concursul feminin – Romania, Italia, Rusia, Belgia, Germania si Franta – si gimnasti din 9 tari in intrecerea masculina – Romania, Italia, Rusia, Marea Britanie, Letonia, Cehia, Spania, Germania si Franta.

Alexandra Barac was a very talented gymnast and, for sure, she would have been a strong component in Romania’s team at the 2001 Ghent World Championship. Unfortunately, her rising career was cut short by a back injury. Several years ago, Alexandra moved to Canada, the place where, several days ago, I had the chance to speak directly to her; we talked about gymnastics, her career, her life in Canada…
The registration for the Rotterdam World Championship ( 16-24 October 2010) is over, the International Gymnastics Federation announcing the list of participants at this event; this list is a very good indicator for every country team as this list will be at the base of every team’s strategy for the event.

Schaffhausen was the place where, this Saturday, the Swiss-German-Romanian Competition took place. The competition witnessed men’s and women’s individual and team trials, the hierarchy being established in regard to the team and individual trials.

Almost every participant for the Rotterdam World Tournament will be undergoing some tests meant to define the teams that will go to Rotterdam for the competition. It is well known that on September 25, in Schauffhausen, the Swiss triangular will take place, Switzerland-Germany-Romania.

On the 16th of October the best gymnasts the world has to offer will be arriving in Rotterdam to participate in the World Finals, a competition which is regarded as a criteria for the qualification for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
La sfarsitul acestei saptamani, in localitatea elvetiana Schaffhausen, se va desfasura un nou si important test pentru gimnastii si gimnastele noastre: triunghiularul Elvetia – Germania – Romania, competitie care va reuni mai multi medaliati olimpici, campioni mondiali si continentali care se pregatesc in vederea Campionatelor Mondiale de la Rotterdam.
