
After Aix-les-Bains, in February, the second tour for the World Cup in aerobic gymnastics took place at the end of last week (13 – 14 May) in Borovet (Bulgaria), a traditional spot for this kind of event in the sports, contest in which 90 athletes competed in 18 countries, representing four continents.
We also had gymnasts of our own on the podium, although with a weakened team due to accidents and necessary changes we managed to winn in individual women, mixed pairs, and group.

Organized during a formal dinner, which took place in the elegant Petroleum Club in Oklahoma, the 15th edition of the Gymnastics Hall of Fame Ceremony brought forward great names in international gymnastics and people that put their mark in the development of the sport.
This year has a special meaning for the Romanian gymnastics fans, if we take into consideration that among the new members there is again one of our own: LAVINIA MILOSOVICI, with 19 world and Olympic medals between 1991 and 1996.

At the end of this week (14 -15 May), the best 90 gymnasts in 18 countries on four continents are meeting in Borovet (Bulgaria), in the second stage of the 2011 FIG Aerobic Gymnastics World Cup, where we will also have a few representatives.
2011 FIG World Cup Series in aerobic gymnastics includes three Contest in the B category – Aix-les-Bains (26-27 February), Borovet (14-14 May), Hamamatsu (4-5 June), with qualifiers and finals in men and women individual, mixed pairs, trio and group.
In a ceremony that will be held in the Petroleum Club, Oklahoma City (USA). The event will take place on the 14th of May, for the 15th annual reunion of the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame (IGHF), where 4 more stars will claim their rightful place in the famous gallery for the international gymnastics, as was announced today by IGHF.
Among those stars we also have LAVINIA MILOSOVICI, that will join the other 73, representing 19 countries, that brought major contributions in the development and glory of the sport.

Between 22-25 May 2011, in Buzau, The 4th Junior National Championship (level I and II), will take place with young gymnasts coming in from CSM Cluj, CSS nr.1 Timisoara, LPS Bistrita, LPS Tg. Mures, Steaua, CSS Brasovia, CSS Sibiu, CSS Resita, CS Sanandre, CSS 3 Steaua, CSS Lugoj, CSS Sibiu, CSS Buzau, CSS 7 Dinamo.

Romanian Gymnastics Federation announced the cancellation of our gymnasts participation (women and men) in the Moscow stage of the World Cup(14-15 May), following the decision of our coordinating coaches given training reasons.
In an emotional open letter, addressed to the international gymnastics community, the FIG president, Brundo Grandi, compared the Ranking code with a “ticking bomb” and pleaded for its revision.
“Created initially to serve our sport, the code suffered a mutation, transforming in a ticking bomb that we no longer can fully control” said Bruno Grandi in the letter entitled “Oh, this Cod!”

After a very tight contest, held in Aix-les-Bains, in February, the 2011 FIG Aerobic Gymnastics World Cup circuit continues, the best 90 gymnasts in 18 countries on four continents will meet in Borovet (Bulgaria), on the 14th and 15th of May.
Our gymnastics will be represented by Alexandru Catalin Bors, Marius Gavriloaie, Marius Ciprian Petruse, Mihaita Iulian Cimpoi, Oana Corina Constantin, Maria Luisa Pavel, Anca Claudia Surdu, Laura Andreea Cristache, Delia Lacataru, Andreea Bogati and Maria Bianca Becze.
Again, gymnastics keeps us focused by programming on the 13 and 14th of the month a new World Cup stage in Moscow in the famous Olympic Complex. Moscow is for the 6th time the host for a competition at this level (first time in 2006), this year also being the second competition of CIII category, after Paris, in March.
The contest – qualifiers on Saturday, 13 May, Finals on Sunday, 14 May – seem to be among the most powerful ones, if we keep in mind the enlisted athletes, which add up to 85 participants from 35 countries with big names.
Our gymnastics is represented by Sandra Izbasa, Ana Porgras, Diana Chelaru, and also Flavius Koczi and Marius Berbecar.

The CSS hall in Buzau was the host of the National School Championship Finals in artistic gymnastic, organized under the Education and Research ministry, with the support of the Romanian Gymnastics Federation, The Buzau County School Inspectorate, CSS Buzau and The County Gymnastics Association.
